Picture-postcard towns and cities are aplenty in Austria. Innsbruck is one such city nestled between the Alps on the River Inn.
The city is a vibrant modern hub that retains all of the traditional old-world Austrian charms whilst offering a wealth of culture and things to do. It’s a gateway to many outdoor sports, including skiing, snowboarding, hiking and mountain biking.
Salzburg is the birthplace of the classical musician Mozart, and they hold an annual Mozart festival here celebrating the famed musician.
Castles & Culinary Delights
Austria has some breathtakingly beautiful castles and palaces to discover. Hochosterwitz Castle is regarded as one of the most stunning castles in Europe, and Kreuzenstein Castle is a picturesque fairytale castle. It has often been used as a filming location due to its aesthetic appeal.
Austria has some delicious culinary dishes that must be tried on a visit to the country. Wiener schnitzel is the country’s national dish and consists of a thin, breaded cutlet served with potatoes and sour cream. Austria is also famous for its Apfelstrudel. A delicious, sweet, flaky pastry with a hot filling seasoned with spices and plenty of sugar!
