Kosovo is located in southeast Europe, in the centre of the area known as the Balkans. It is the second-youngest country in the world, having only declared independence from Serbia in 2008.

The capital, Pristina, is one of Kosovo’s most beautiful cities to visit. There is stunning architecture to marvel at, fantastic cafe culture and fabulous nightlife (it is a young country, after all!)

Another beautiful city to visit is Prizren. Located on the banks of the Prizren River, you can explore the city’s cultural delights and head off to hike through the Sharr Mountains National Park if that’s your thing.

You can also enjoy skiing here during the winter months. Gazivoda Lake is the largest lake in Kosovo; it even extends into Serbia, and this artificial wonder is full of wildlife to spot.

Adventure Awaits

Wander around Gračanica Monastery to learn more about Serbia’s Orthodox history. A Serbian King built this UNESCO World Heritage Sight on the ruins of a church. It’s a beautiful monument to explore, with a staggered curved roof.

Another fantastic place to visit is the Rugosa Canyon. This river canyon is considered one of the longest and deepest canyons in Europe, as it is a fantastic place to hike or even try out a zip line – if you are feeling adventurous!
