Portugal: A Culinary Haven

Portugal is located in southern Europe in an area known as the Iberian Peninsula. Spain borders it, and its position on the Atlantic Coast gives it a rich and unique food culture, with many dishes hailing from the fresh seafood that is in abundance here.

Lisbon & Porto: A Tiled Tale

Portugal’s capital, Lisbon, is an incredible mix of hilly, cobbled streets and gorgeous vistas.

Keep an eye out for the many tile-covered buildings with their beautiful images and patterns. It’s hard to miss these ‘azulejos’ as they are called in Portugal, as they adorn nearly every building in some way or another.

Another place to see these incredibly decorated tiles is in the city of Porto. World-famous for the production of delicious port wine, Porto has some stunning examples of coloured tiles. Houses, train stations and even churches are decorated with the unique blue azulejos here.

Coastal Wonders Of Cabo De Roca

Take a trip to the most western point of mainland Europe to feast your eyes upon the spectacular rugged coastline of Cabo de Roca.

The powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean crash against the coast’s wind-swept cliffs, and travellers can delight in looking out onto the endless sea.

Another place to visit is the beautiful Douro Valley Wine Region. The majestic Douro River carves its way through the valley here, and some of the country’s best wine is produced in this region. Take a tour of a vineyard and taste some port wine – Portugal’s most famous drink.
