Aruba Sunshine and Sustainability
Aruba is a country which, along with Bonaire and Curaçao, is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and it is located in the Caribbean sea close to the Venezuelan peninsula of Paraguaná.
The country has been part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands since 1986 when it became independent from the Netherlands Antilles. Aruba is known for its beautiful powder-white beaches, a year-round sunny, dry climate and its production of aloe vera – one of the biggest producers in the world!
It is also considered to be one of the safest islands in the Caribbean, and they are proud to have tap water that is just as good as bottled water. They are an island championing eco-tourism and have done a lot to improve the sustainability of the island, they boast the Caribbean’s first carbon-neutral hotel – Bucuti & Tara.
Aruba Sunsets, Beaches and Nature
The island’s location on the south of the hurricane belt means that there is a perfect year-round climate with warm, dry weather and little rain. This makes it a fantastic all-year tourist destination! Aruba has some incredible beaches to discover such as Palm Beach, Eagle Beach and Manchebo Beach – which is a great spot to watch the sunset with a sundowner in hand.
Take a visit to the Arikok National Park to swim in Aruba’s Natural Pool. Here you can cool off in a natural sea pool which is surrounded by volcanic rock.
he national park itself is a great place to hike and explore some of the island’s incredible landscapes. Rugged, rocky terrain and desert plains filled with Aruba aloe vera are what make up most of this unique national park.
Aruba Watersports and Wind Adventures
Like many of the Caribbean islands, life is lived out on the water in Aruba. The island is popular with wind and kite surfing and one of the best spots to partake in the sport is Hadicurari Beach.
Benefiting from winds coming in from the Atlantic Coast, you can spot plenty of kite surfers out on the water year-round. Other water-based activities to try in Aruba are kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing and, of course, sailing.
