Patagonia's Pristine Wilderness
Head to southern Patagonia to explore the stunning Torres del Paine National Park. Encompassing snow-topped mountains, glaciers, dazzling lakes and rivers, the national park is a popular place for overnight treks where you can stay overnight in shelters along the many hiking trails.
From one extreme landscape to another, visit the Atacama Desert to see the rugged, sun-baked Valle de la Luna terrain. So-called as the landscape here resemble that of the moon. Here you can hike, cycle or take a tour bus to explore the breathtaking scenery and the many caverns where some of the world’s oldest mummies have been found.
Chilean Wine, Wildlife, and Waterways
For sailing enthusiasts, a visit to Cape Horn will no doubt be on your agenda. The southernmost point before you reach Antarctica has long attracted sailors and adventure seekers looking to experience the views of the rough seas from this incredible spot.
Another must-visit is the great Los Pingüinos Natural Monument, where you can see one of the country’s largest penguin colonies, seals, and sea lions. For a more relaxing activity, spend an afternoon discovering one of the country’s wine regions, which produce some of the world’s best wines.
The Maipo Valley is close to Santiago, the capital, and there are many vineyards to visit. There, you can see how the wine is made and taste some of the delicious samples.
