Mexico, the land of tacos and tequila, always amazes first-time visitors with its unique blend of culture and history. Mayan ruins are a must-visit for those who love ancient architecture and history. The Mayan civilization was one of Central America’s most significant pre-Columbian cultures. Known for their complex writing, art, and architecture system, the Mayans have left remarkable structures for us to witness. The ruins of their ancient cities today serve as an educational and inspirational destination for travellers who want to learn about the history and heritage of Mexico.

Chichen Itza

Located in the Yucatan Peninsula, Chichen Itza is perhaps the most well-known of the Mayan ruins and was also named one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The archaeological site features iconic structures like the Kukulkan Pyramid, El Castillo, the Great Ball Court, and the Temple of the Warriors. The Kukulkan Pyramid is the most famous structure and is believed to have been used for ceremonial purposes.
